Markbass Kimandu 4 Richard Bona Signature Bass

Based on Markbass' flagship Signature Richard Bona Kilimanjaro bass, the Kimandu maintains the same charm, same design, same product philosophy and the same main features, but uses a production process that allowd MarkBass to offer this bass at at an incredible price.

Woods
Body: MarkBass chose a two-piece alder body, one of the most used wood thanks to its round and sparkling tonal characteristics, still keeping a standard weight. Body and matching headstock are finished in green - the trademark colour of Richard's Ninja line of bass products.

Neck: Canadian maple with flat cut and two graphite bars to offer maximum stability, with a pretty comfortable profile and dual action truss rod adjustable on the headstock.

Fretboard: Maple, 34" scale, 24 ultra carefully refinished frets and black GraphTech nut.

Hardware
On the Kimandu version Markbass chose high quality custom machine heads, 20:1 ratio, ultra light, precise and reliable. MarkBass picked a high quality Custom bridge as well with zinc saddles wrenched on the bridge base to get the best sustain and sound transfer.

Pickups
The Kimandu version soapbar pickups have been custom built on Markbass specs to perfectly match their custom preamp electronics for a smooth bass, focussed on the mid range with a bright and defined top end.

Electronics
The Kimandu features a custom Markbass preamp - offering simple, intuitive and effective control, even on extreme settings.
Controls are VOLUME/VOLUME/TONE (with an active/passive switch on Tone) providing unrivalled pickup blending capability. With active BASS, MIDs and TREBLE, you don't have to worry about indistint bass or thin top end. The frequency and bandwitch of the preamps filters deliver a wide range of tones on any setting. The TONE control (which also works in passive mode) has been defined by Richard as the “G Point” because of the ease with which it allows you to mobe from smooth and warm tones to bright and hi-fi and everywhere in between in one movement.
